چکیده

Abstract Adding steel fibers to concrete improves the post-cracking tensile strength of composite material due bridging cracks. The residual performance is influenced by fiber type, content and orientation with respect crack plane. latter a main issue in fiber-reinforced elements, since it significantly influences structural behavior. aim this research develop tailor-made casting method orient order optimize for applications. To aim, mechanized concreting device that induces such preferred designed fabricated. It uses vibration series narrow channels guide fibers. A oriented produced using hybrid system macro micro high-performance concrete. From same batch, specimens are cast both without device, obtaining different levels orientation. Three-point bending tests performed measure compare capacities standard according EN 14651. Elements favorable show significant increase beams. Finally, computed tomography an electromagnetic induction employed better assess distribution Their results good agreement enable link parameters

Effects of Fiber Length and Fiber Orientation Distributions on the Tensile Strength of Short-fiber-reinforced Polymers

This paper presents an analytical method considering the effects of fiber length and fiber orientation distributions for predicting the tensile strength (TS) of short-fiber-reinforced polymers (SFRP). Two probability density functions are used for modelling the distributions of fiber length and fiber orientation. The strength of SFRP is derived as a functiolz of fiber length and fiber orientati...

Optimal imaging parameters for fiber-orientation estimation in diffusion MRI.

This study uses Monte Carlo simulations to investigate the optimal value of the diffusion weighting factor b for estimating white-matter fiber orientations using diffusion MRI with a standard spherical sampling scheme. We devise an algorithm for determining the optimal echo time, pulse width, and pulse separation in the pulsed-gradient spin-echo sequence for a specific value of b. The Monte Car...

Influence of Fiber Orientation and Thickness on Tensile Properties of Laminated Polymer Composites

The objective of this research was to gain a better understanding of tensile properties of epoxy resin composites reinforced with glass fiber. The effect of fiber orientation & thickness of laminates has been investigated & experimentation was performed to determine property data for material specifications, the laminates were obtained by hand layup process. The laminates were cut to obtain AST...

Bonding Properties of Basalt Fiber and Strength Reduction According to Fiber Orientation

The basalt fiber is a promising reinforcing fiber because it has a relatively higher tensile strength and a density similar to that of a concrete matrix as well as no corrosion possibility. This study investigated experimentally the bonding properties of basalt fiber with cementitious material as well as the effect of fiber orientation on the tensile strength of basalt fiber for evaluating basa...

Relationship between Fibre Orientation and Tensile Strength of Natural Collagen Membranes for Heart Valve Leaflets

Heart valve prostheses are used to replace native heart valves which that are damaged because of congenital diseases or due to ageing. Biological prostheses made of bovine pericardium are similar to native valves and do not require any anticoagulation treatment, but are less durable than mechanical prostheses and usually fail by tearing. Researches are oriented in improving the resistance and d...
